THE 7 STAY INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
Here are the 7 critical questions to cover during a Stay Interview;
(1) What gets you excited to come to work? (Evaluates present engagement).
(2) What would make you consider leaving? (Identifies deal-breakers).
(3) Do you feel valued? How do you prefer to be recognized? (Evaluates recognition needs).
(4) Where do you see yourself in 18 months? Is that path clear here? (Evaluates growth expectations).
(5) What do you need that you don't have? (Identifies gaps).
(6) What should we stop doing that frustrates you? (Eliminates friction).
(7) Scale 1-10, how likely would you recommend working here to a friend?
Why that number? (Employee Net Promoter).
HOW TO EXECUTE: Quarterly for high performers. 45-60 min deep conversation. Off-record (doesn't go on a performance review). Active listening. Take specific notes.
POST-INTERVIEW ACTION: If you identify a gap/frustration, act within 2 weeks or explain why you can't. Most frustrations are solvable.
